2019 Spring Cleaning-Part 2

Welcome Back, let us finish out cleaning the house properly for spring:

Header:
14) Move It Move It...The Furniture!
This a good time to take your time and clean not only around, but the furniture itself.

15) Curtains
Simple washing and drying will leave your curtains smelling and feeling fresh.

16) Bookshelves
A great time to dust off the shelves and to remind yourself why you make that in your schedule to read!

17) Kid's Toys
Being used on a daily basis can make anything dirty. Got plastic toys? Run them through the dishwasher.

18) Pillows & Comforters
Only needing to be cleaned a handful of times a year, this is one of those times.

19) Mattress
While your sheets are being washed, and your bed is exposed, why not clean your mattress a bit too?

20) Closet
With the changing of the seasons comes the changing of the wardrobe. This is a great opportunity to go through your clothes and get rid of any unneeded clothes and donate them.

21) Washer
Before you donate those clothes you would wash them, and even the washer could use a cleansing rinse!

22) Dryer
While you are cleaning your washer, you don't want to make your dryer jealous.

23) Heavily Used Electronics
It is no surprise that the items we touch most, would be the dirtiest. A cleansing wipe will take care of that.

24) The Lady's Purse
This is something that can be very unorganized, and there is no better time to organize one of the most used bags.

25) Vacuums and Brooms
Even the cleaners need to be cleaned. After you have fully cleaned the house, cleaning out tools such as your vacuum and brooms is a great idea.

26) Patio Furniture
Outside needs some love too, not just the inside.

This is also a great time to see that you may have more stuff than you want or need, and would make a great start to a garage sale! You never know what your neighbor would do when you have yours! If you have any questions, or want some assistance-contact me!

Why Real Estate is Such a Good (Great) Investment: Part 3-Sell it

This is the next installment of a 7 part series exploring ideas of why real estate is such a good investment. The focus will be on single family and multifamily real estate, but a good idea is a good idea, enjoy.  Alas, today we will be discussing the main thing people think about when they think about real estate investing, selling the asset high after buying low. The biggest advantage to selling real estate is the value added you can do yourself. There is no requirement to hire anyone to do any repairs on the property, as real estate is sold as is. You can do your own marketing, your own negotiating, there does not have to be anyone between you and the market unless you choose for there to be. You choose your partners at terms you both agree with. With that great power, comes great responsibility. Though you can do it yourself, it is more advisable to partner with those who do it every day, rather than every so often. Consider that a real estate transaction employs a...

Your First Home: Step 2-Hire Your Agent

Now that we have made the decision to buy your first home, scary I know-time to find a real estate agent to help you do it! What does a real estate agent do for you exactly? They are your market consultant, home guide, your liaison for other partners in the home buying process, negotiator, and the closer. They wear a lot of hats, for this reason it is a very good idea to have conversation with them and get to know them as a person and as a professional. Here are some great questions to ask them: 1.       Why did you become a real estate agent? 2.       Why should I work with you? 3.       What do you do better than other real estate agents? 4.       What process will you use to help me find the right home for me? 5.       What are some mistakes that you think people make when buying their first home? 6.       What are ...
